I met John in Ullapool two weeks ago on the Monday the St Ayles Skiff world championship was kicked off. Nice guy, big task. Tonight he has reached Skerray, tomorrow he will get to Melvich, and Thurso by Tuesday. Then he is taking a few days off before he starts again from Thurso. Problem with all the walking in remote coastal areas is there is no-one around to raise funds from so if what he is doing is something you can support please check out the link above.

This reminds me of being a little annoyed as a kid when a local crofter in Scarfskerry extended his fencing right up to "the brae-head" cutting off access to the shoreline, particularly when the tide was in.

It would be good to hear what he can report of public access to the shoreline around the country (-ies) in this present day.

He's on schedule, passed him between Strathy and Melvich this afternoon but could n't stop as there was no where to pull over.
