Faces trial on a string of charges
A THURSO teenager is facing a string of charges including assaults, thefts
including prescription drugs and abusing police and nurses at a hospital.
Dominic Long pleaded not guilty to all seven charges when he appeared from
custody at Wick Sheriff Court yesterday.
The 17-year-old is also alleged to have stolen football boots and a
skateboard, and stands accused of being found in a shed under suspicious
circumstances. The thefts are said to have occurred at houses in Thurso, on Friday.
In the alleged disturbances at Caithness General Hospital, on the same
date, Long, of 7 Ormlie Crescent, Thurso, is accused of shouting and swearing at
nurses and assaulting police officers by repeatedly spitting on them. He is also facing a charge of breaching a curfew order.

Long was remanded in custody by Sheriff Andrew Berry pending his trial on
August 21.
