Fireplace tiles

Hi, I'm replacing a coal fire with a glass fronted gas fire. I also want to re-tile the fireplace and hearth. Can I use ordinary wall or floor tiles? Cheers

You should get away with normal tiles around a gas fire.

of course you can. tiles are ceramic so no problem s there and a glass fronted fire retains most of the heat anyway. , ive done quite a few fireplace s & hearths .you can even tile on top of the existing tile.
