Is that not rhubarb or a member of that family?

I know it looks like it but no its not rhubarb,its in my daughters garden and I have never seen it before ,would love to know what it is,its like a giant version of astilbe.

I thought it was an astilbe but not sure how big they grow; that is a beautiful specimen! Have just looked up astilbe on the net but the pictures I found don't have such enormous leaves.....

I know but the top bit looks like and astilbe,i wonder if a rhubarb and astilbe have mated lol,i cant find anything on the internet.

I think you should be taking cuttings; you'll make a fortune selling the rhubarb. One stick would make a lot of rhubarb crumbles!

We have them its an ornamental rhubarb or Chinese Rhubarb not edible

Gunnera is a type of ornamental rhubarb, which one this is I do not know as there are so many varieties but you can search on line to match the description, do not eat this plant.
