As we all know the BT RFS date for the Wick exchange has been continuously pushed back, but I just received this e-mail from my ISP:

Dear [Me],

Regarding your Broadband ADSL service on [My Phone number]

We are pleased to confirm that we are planning to upgrade your broadband service next week. The upgrade is free, and you should not have to make any changes to equipment or settings on your line. There may be a few minutes loss of service while the upgrade happens.

The actual upgrade is to the newer ADSL2+ protocol using a TT backhaul. For most customers this is likely to mean a faster speed of service.

We have published an FAQ

http://wiki.aa.org.uk/Migrating_to_TT

We'll update that page with any new questions we get.

If you have any concerns or queries, do contact support.

I'll see what the TalkTalk Wholesale backend is like I suppose, can't be any worse than the BT Wholesale one.

My ISP is AAISP / Andrews & Arnold (http://aaisp.net.uk/) by the way.

EDIT: The Wick RFS date has moved to the end of July now - http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/NSWIC - it was the end of June last month.
