Health Insurance

Can somebody give me some advice with this? I'm considering if i should take a Dutch Health Insurance that covers my stay-ing in Scotland or take one over there.
Tried to google for health insurers in Britain, but i don't know which are good and which aren't. I'm affraid i don't even know how that stuff works over there [para].

we have a form called an E111 that we can apply for to get free medical treatment in the EU, I am sure that Holland has a similar type form.

an E111 form from the post office in britain covers you in any EU country for medical treatment to the standard supplied by that country, free of charge. Any specialised treatment however, which is available in this country, may not be available on the NH of the host country, therefore you are advised to check it out before you go or get extra insurance.

If you are going to be working over in scotland you should be able to register yourself for NHS health care after all if you are paying taxes and nhs contributations out of your wages in scotland you should be entitaled to nhs treatment

I emailed the Department of Health and they replyed with:

As a citizen of the European Union you will be entitled to care from the
National Health Service in Scotland while you are resident here, on the
same basis as any other resident. This means that most things are free,
but you will usually be expected to pay charges for any prescriptions
and some charges for dental and optical treatment, should you require
it. You should register with a doctor on arrival.

Don't need any specialised treatment at the moment, but is it wise to get extra insurance? Do you guys take extra? Think it's better to go well planned, without getting in trouble afterwards. Maybe i'm overdoing :roll: .

U kunt een vorm van Holland moeten ertoe brengen om ervoor te zorgen u kunt blijken u voor treatmet kwalificeert. Wij gebruikten om de vorm E111 te nemen zoals vroeger verklaard. U kunt gelijkaardig iets hebben om hier te brengen. Registreren met een arts is normaal en u zou dit moeten doen als u op om het even welk gebied voor een uitgebreide tijd van plan bent te blijven

You may need to get a form from Holland to make sure you can prove you qualify for treatmet. We used to take the form E111 as stated earlier. You may have something similar to bring here. Registering with a doctor is normal and you should do so if you intend to stay in any area for an extended time.

Excuse the bad Dutch but I am testing translation machines for the web site at the moment. It would help if you could say if this translation is anything near the English version

I'm affraid translation machines translate to literally and some words can have two meanings to, like for example: form... it's been used in this text as shape. We probably also don't use the same amount of words, so you miss some or there will be to much. It makes strange funny sentences. Think it's usefull for simple text, but won't advise to use it professional ;) .

Example from Dutch to Englisch:

I want to go seek really only once a Dutch version of the E111 form.

and what I mean: I better go find a Dutch version of the E111 form (don't know if that's correct, but it sure sounds better in my ears [smirk] )

I was trying out the machines to give some automatic translation of our web pages. I have set up some links at the bottom of the front page. These links are ot the translation machine of Wordlingo. I just thought they might have some use. However if they are too far out and of no use I will probably discontinue them. They are not professional in any way in this context. I just thought that they might help for anyone who had little or no English.
