Well, i've seen it all now!

Driving out of Tesco's carpark tonight at 5pm i followed a people carrier type van with the number plate

0003 ORG

it had a 01708 phone number on the side and also had an European numberplate. i would have taken a photo but i wasn't quick enough.

Do Bill and Niall have 0001 and 0002 Org? if so, who is no. 3?

the RG designation was from Aberdeen.
My first car a 1963 Ford Anglia was ORG 639 and had been first registered in Aberdeen.

The OO portion denotes the area of registration while the ORG portion is purely random OR selected by the person registering the vehicle.
OO is in the range OA-OY which is the Oxford area DVLA local office.

It was "The Prisoner" starring Patrick McGoohan and I am No.6 - I have nothing to do with big white balls though ;)

I think Leo McKern played Number 1, but memory is getting vague with age

Doh!
Should have realised it was a modern plate with OO 03 ORG on it rather than an older one with four numbers and three letters.
Anyway looking into it, I've discovered that RG was not an Aberdeen designation so a bit of education there then.

Aberdeen uses the DVLA local office identifiers SU, SV, SW

it was a new looking wagon so not from down there.anyone recognise the phone number 01708. the reason i paid attention to it was i thought it was Stirling, but thats 01786.anyhoo. i think the DVLA will be knocking up a fair few ORG numberplates for us lot.I think i'll have 00101 ORG.Imagine the poor people driving this wagon with a hundred .Orgers running after them to take their picture....
