We took a trip out to St Johns Loch yesterday, for a spot of birdwatching, never been there before. Alas when we got there the sky was black and pouring with rain...[nice day with sunshine back at home which prompted us to do the trip!] We saw a wee boat shed, but could not see the bird hide? Can someone give me a clue as to where it is?..which side of the Loch and how to get to it? I would love to go again, when the weather is a bit more favourable, and hopefullyto enjoy some birdwatching. Needless to say the sun was still shining when we got home..should have just got the 'bins' out in the garden!!

The hide is on the pond at the end of the Loch.

When going through Dunnet turn just past the Hotel at the sign to Dunnet Head. Follow the road and St Johns Loch should be on your left hand side. Just as you come to the end of the Loch Look for a sign saying Artsmith on the left hand side of the road. Turn up this track, at the end there is a little carpark. The hide is just a two minuite walk from here.

Turning is the little green bit at the top of the page and the cross is roughly where the hide is.

Sorry Kas, I think you went to the same navigating school as Ms Grumpy, its on the right as you travel from Dunnet village. There is also a signpost to 'The John Corbett Hide' by the Artsmith sign.
