It's because women don't fart. Well, actually they do, just not in the presence of anyone else, so when they need to pass wind all that pent up energy has to be released in secret, and you think of all the females of the world releasing that energy at the same time, obviously the results are going to be cataclysmic! Trust me, I know these things. :-)
