Great pics buggyracer.
I,ve sometimes had a hankering to keep such birds but I know how much care they need so I leave it to the experts.http://www.hawk-conservancy.org/.
They run an excellent centre near Andover, well worth a visit if your in Hampshire or nearby. They have both indigenous and foreign (often rescued) birds, and are very into educating all ages. This is one of the birds that you can fly if you get a chance.

I quite agree grumpyhippo..it's a real education especially if you can get in on a private visit with a SERA group or similiar.
Have met Ashleigh and his late father many times.

Late last year, we had the chance to spend a day hunting Harris Hawks at The North East Falconry Centre just outside Huntly. It is one of these things you should do before you die. The Harris Hawk is called Alice? Yeah, I thought it was a bit of a strange name too!!
