"Queen's accolade demonstrates company commitment" - MP
COMMUNITY leaders have paid tribute to Professor Iain Baikie following the Queen’s Award his company, KP Technology has received for international trade.
Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross MP, John Thurso, said: “This award demonstrates the commitment of Ian Baikie and his team in expanding the business throughout the world.”
Caithness Lord Lieutenant, Anne Dunnett added: “Thanks to the loyalty of Professor Baikie to his home town, Wick is supplying the world with innovative technology as well as providing work for local people”.
Potential customers travel to the airport-based concern from all over the world to learn all about the Kelvin Probe, invented by the professor to investigate the properties of various materials.
The latest accolade adds to a Queen’s Award for innovation won by global KP in 2008.
