I've just watched the subject film from a link on the main caithness.org website.

Has Dunnet Head eroded that much since I left? Must be the weight of all that doggie poo, and other activities.

And, can someone name what headland that really is?

Camster Long Cairn looks most interesting - never been there!

I don't remember any signs on the main road showing the start of the trail. Is there a sign up now?

Yeah. I was wondering about that too. Where is it?

It's Reiss Beach, you can see the wreck next to the big sand dune.

Headland looks like Cape Wrath.

On this film what they have marked as "Dunnet Head" is incorrect as this is "Cape Wrath Lighthouse" The small inlet just behind the Lighthouse is the East Landing for the Lighthouse. This is where there are four Diesel Tanks which used to be for storing the Diesel for the Lighthouse. They were built in 1980 and I was one of the Keepers who laid the concrete bases.

Is it my glasses or was the whole thing out of focus?

No you are OK, you don't need new glasses. The whole film was out of focus and it was very badly filmed and edited. On top of that they added in the incorrect information. Bad show all round.

...and if I'm not mistaken the O'Neill Cold Water Classic isn't going to be held here again either :confused

Not sure what it's supposed to promote!
It's about 6 years old using cinematography techniques from 70's soft porn. Quality!
