RACHEL HAIR TRIO - ACKERGILL TOWER - SUN 9 JUNE (7.30PM) - £10

An award-winning harper nominated for Scottish Folk Band of the Year (2011) and Best Live Act (2012) at the Scottish Trad Awards - and who sold out their Celtic Connections concert before the doors even opened - Caithness Castle Creations are delighted to bring the Rachel Hair Trio to Caithness.

Performing at Ackergill Tower on Sunday 9 June, this is a great opportunity to see one of best, leading trad folk acts around. An established, internationally-renowned group, the trio present a sparkling blend of melodic harp mastery, rootsy songs and sophisticated rhythmical drive.

Fronted by acclaimed harpist-composer Rachel Hair, and featuring the much-in-demand singer-guitarist Jenn Butterworth alongside top Scottish double bassist Euan Burton, the group has honed a repertoire drawn from traditional, contemporary and international sources to create performances that crackle with character, passion, verve and joie de vivre.

The trio's latest album (No More Wings) was listed as Album Of The Week by Radio Scotland.

This show is expected to sell well, so advance tickets can be purchased by emailing: caithnesscastlecreations@gmail.com

If only they could find another member, the Rachel Hair Trio could be a Barbershop Quartet.

Good luck with the event. The County's cultural scene needs the breath of fresh air you've brought back up.

Thanks for the positive words, SiS :) It's our aim to bring high quality entertainment to the area on a consistent basis. We need everyone's support in order to make it sustainable.Following Rachel Hair Trio, we hope to bring up an interactive courtroom theatre event where the audience get to sit on the jury and cross-witness. The show was a sellout at the Edinburgh Fringe 2011, and noted for the celebrities that headed the jury. We'd like to do the same with local notables/ characters, so feel free to make suggestions. With any luck, the show will take place in two different venues on either side of the county.
