A Tartan Scarf

I was feeling really nosey
The Babysitter was doon the stairs
I was in ma Mum and Dads wardrobe
Checking oot his auld Flairs

When on the floor right at the back
A Tartan Scarf I found
Ma brain began to wonder
While ma heart began to pound

A scarf ma faither must have wore
On the terracing of Hampden Park
Watching Scotlands brave fitbaw team
Then to the pub to have a lark

So the next morning I ran doon to breakfast
I hugged him for ma heart felt proud
"Dad a found yer Scotland scarf"
I cried it out so loud

But Mum she grabbed it off me
My heart it gave a prang
But I smiled cos I'd made Mum happy
As she went off singing 'Shang-a-Lang'
