After reading that this Community Council could fold if no Chairperson was found does anybody out there know if one was found, of if its going to fold?

Yes, saw that myself after reading the possible fold. Thought it was a shame when Wick needs a bit of a boost at the moment. I myself am always positive, I was thinking the post might need new blood/ideas to see if more could get done.

You could always attend as members of the public to get a feel for the meetings and see where it goes. You cannot as far as I am aware have any input unless asked nor can you vote however it lets you know first hand how things are going.

So, this might seem a really silly question, are all those on the Community Council - council staff if one form or another?

No they are people from the Wick community who have stepped forward to try and do their bit for the community.

Sorry you have lost me its open to the public to stand for the elections how can that be a closed shop? If too few people stand then there is no election if lots of people put their name forward then there is an election. The public can decide who they would like to represent them on the community council that's if they are interested enough to give their view.

It really is a shame about the Community Council. I looked at the web site last week and it needed badly bring up to date. The chairperson was standing down and nobody was willing to take the reins. Then I read that a meeting was cancelled due to not enough members turning up. It really needs a bit of new life to the proceeding, along with people willing to try and bring Wick back to life. As my motto is: There has to be a way.... Maybe its time for a new group to promote Wick.
