Police appeal for assistance on his movements
POLICE have named the man recovered from Wick river in the early hours of yesterday morning.
He was 30-year-old William McGough, from Wick. Police say his death is being treated as “unexplained”. They are awaiting the result of a post mortem.
Officers from Northern Constabulary’s specialist crime division had appealed for help in trying piece together Mr McGough’s movements, particularly in the Victoria Place area, of the town, between 6pm on Friday night and 6.30am on Saturday. The team have combed the river bank, below the town bridge, in a bid to find a clues, in the case.
