Following the discovery of oil in Scottish territorial waters back in the 1970' the Brittish government appointed professor Gavin McCrone to the task of compiling a report on the effect the oil would have on Scotland should the nation choose independence from the UK. Once completed the report was labelled "TOP SECRET" and immediately hidden from public view. In 2004 the report became available under the freedom of information act. In conclusion professor McCrone reported that should Scotland assert its independence and secure the vast oil reserves on behalf of the nation it would ....
