Scottish bread recipe

Does anyone have a recipe for Scottish bread, I believe it is made using buttermilk. Would like a plain and wholemeal / multigrain recipe

1lb Flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 oz butter
2 breakfast cups buttermilk or thick soured cream

Method
Set oven to 425OF. Grease & flour a baking sheet. Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl , lightly rub in butter, add buttermilk & mix into a light, soft dough. Divide in 2 & shape into rounds on a lightly floured surface. Place rounds on baking sheet and bake for around 20 minutes.

I have never tried this recipe myself - it is from a booklet "Scottish Teatime Recipes" by Johanna Mathie, publisher J Salmon Ltd.
