hi all returning home since 1985 stay at farm with my grand but no longer with us
but now as time move on am planing return trip next week (march 20)
just want to no what are the best places to stay cheep accommodation:
coming in by train and bringing cycle to take in the views n hope maybe see those northern lights
any ideas - only place I've got at the moment is the youth hostel in thurso..

most of the B and B's are reasonable enough,depends on how cheap you need it to be x

Don't think there is a youth hostel in Thurso anymore, but Sandra's Hostel (http://www.sandras-backpackers.co.uk/) at the bottom end of Princes Street is probably the cheapest place to stay in the town.

thanks for the replay am aware of Sandra's Hostel (http://www.sandras-backpackers.co.uk/) after doing searching they seam to be the cheapest
camping is out as its out of season unfortunately
so its more likely i book there:
any good events on

What type of accommodation you looking for and what sort of price. Obviously you would prefer Wick side

ideally under the £15 - £20 a night
wick is an advantage but am ok with thurso taking bike with me for that ride around caithness
