Wilson stumped to name his Man of the Match...
"All my players were fantastic" in runaway win

WICK Academy manager Barry Wilson has spoken in glowing terms about his team’s 6-1 return to form after their disastrous wobble against derby side Brora Rangers.
Wilson confessed to being “almost lost for words” as his players shrugged off the 5-0 drubbing by the Sutherland side to put on a scintillating 6-1 display away to Keith, on Saturday to return to top spot in the league table.
The Wick boss described the performance to the Press and Journal as “unbelievable” and continued: “We asked for a reaction from the players after that midweek defeat and we certainly got it.”
Wilson said it was particularly gratifying as they had gone down to Kynoch Park with a depleted squad, minus caption Sam Mackay and Alan Farquhar. Big Lukasz Geruzel had to come off minutes with a suspected pulled stomach muscle pull. Despite all that and a sending off, Wick continued to shine.
Commenting on the red-carding of substitute Ross Allan, Wilson said: “It was a wee bit of petulance. When Ross got fouled, he did swing the leg. Yes, it was violent conduct but he was never going to hurt anyone, but there was a reaction and the referee probably called it right.”
It’s not often a manager is stumped when asked to pick his man of the match.
Said Wilson: “All my lads were fantastic.”
The emphatic win is a confidence-booster for the Scorries ahead of their return to Dudgeon Park, for their second-round cup encounter on Saturday.
