Yes it is.
www.trafficscotland.org (http://www.trafficscotland.org) will keep you up to date
its a hell of a big crane to move and the road surface may be damaged too. Trafficscotland hasn't updated since 14:30 unfortunately but it was still a problem at 17:45 as my mate's job was called off when he got stuck in the queue
just be careful if you get stuck in the queue, those pesky vampires will be swooping in and having a bloodlust frenzy!! you have been warned!!
Thanks. Just checked with the police and they were updated at 5 and were told it could still be hours before its clear. Meant to be heading to ness in the morning :(
Apparently crane back on road but problem with brakes
Apparently midnight before road will be open !!!!

Many thanks to the people in Port Gower who opened the hall and made tea and coffee for those waiting in the queue. It made the waiting more bearable. Also grateful thanks to the bus driver Benny who got everyone on the bus to the correct destinations after a long wait.
Police told us take the old glen loth road .they told us its about 10-15 miles after driving in a queue
of traffic through the hills the snow got the better of most .we had to push cars up hills to keep going
.there was hardly a laybye to turn back then the cars starting coming from the other direction .on a single lane old road .when we finally got signal to get help they told us the road was closed (to dangerous )
well done the police another disaster
I have read in the past other threads asking is there life in Port Gower, well we found it in abundance yesterday, many thanks to the people in Port Gower who opened the hall and made tea and coffee for those waiting in the queue, cracking community show, thanks again.

We got through going north on the X99 bus at about 16.30 with no bother.

Aye, brave driver but then again he knew the vampires would have been waiting to pounce if he stopped!.....
