Hello everyone in Caithness and a Happy New Year. I live in France and am currently researching my ancestors Hendersons of Latheron. My great aunt Maggie Cormack née Henderson died in Wick aged 102 a few years ago. Maggie was married to Robert (the post) Cormack and they lived in Lybster. I visited them as a young girl with my grandmother and fell in love with the piper who came especially to their cottage to play for us. They are all gone now but would love to hear from anyone who knew the family. Henry Henderson, Maggie's father came from Smerlie.

Hi Marjorie

If you would like to take a look at my web site http://www.graven-images.org.uk
you will find Robert Ross Cormack along with his parents and Maggie in the Latheron New section.

If you look in the library section you will find a little about the history of the Henderson family in Caithness.

Hi Marjorie,
Did Maggie's husband, Robert (the post) Cormack have a brother named James, known as Chames o' Pat. This Chames lived at Badrieskie in the "pink hoose" on the road thru Rumster Forest. Thanks, H

Hi Marjorie
I have information on a Henry Henderson born at Cuigs, who died at Stronhobach, Smerlie in 1940 aged 91. He had a daughter, Margaret who died in Wick in 1988 aged over 100 years. Would these be your family?

Hello spittahill
Yes, Henry Henderson who died at Stronhobach in 1940 was my great grandfather.! My great Aunt Margaret(Maggie) died at the great age of 102 in Wick. My grandfather Henry Henderson (jnr) travelled south to London where he met and married my grandmother Rose Wells in 1912, I would be delighted to hear of anything you might know of my family.

Hi H
I really don't know much about the Cormack family. I love the idea that Great Uncle Robert had a brother known as Chames o' Pat! Its Maggie, Robert's wife that was my blood relative. Perhaps someone knows out there in beautiful Caithness?

Theres a butcher in Latheronwheel called Cormack (Donald maybe?). He'll be in his middle fifties and I'm sure he is related.
