Only the Eskimos will have the nerve to do this!!
This is amazing !
This is something I had never heard of so I thought you might enjoy watching.
When the tide is out... under the ice.
Very interesting what the indigenous inhabitants of the region have done forages.

A very interesting clip, thanks Jacko. I was praying for the man to return to the surface, before the tide claimed him. I'd never seen, or known about this event and I marvelled at the bravery of the hunter. Thanks for sharing with us.

We were in Alaska a few years ago. It was astounding how much the tide rose and fell each day in some of the inlets. Going under the ice like that looks completely daft to me, but people up there have developed so many ways to survive in an in hospitable landscape.
Just outside Ketchikan is a museum of totem poles. Many of the poles commemorate dead people. One was commissioned in memory of a man who got his hand stuck in a large clam as the tide came in.

Hi Jacko, that was great. A bit different from picking whelks at Staxigo.
