View Full Version : Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?

So, just to lighten proceedings a little and possibly drum up a little Org business, how about giving this one an outing.

You're planning a dinner party for six and your guests must all be posters. Who would you invite and why? I'll start things off.

1. Joxville - for his great humour and pleasant disposition.

2. Laguna - always a good sport and enters into the true spirit of things.

3. Golach - to discover if he really is the "Grumps," he professes to be. I don't believe it! :)

4. Flynn - not afraid to defend what he believes in. Shame about the politics, though. Would like to mother him. LOL

5. Ducati - another braveheart, who tells it like he believes it is.

That's my five of the best, so who would be yours? BTW I'm free!

M Swanson, I am delighted to be included in your dinner party. Your choice is good, I have lunched with Laguna a few times a delightful Orger.I would include her in my choice also. I have already attended a memorial night with a group of Orgers in the Castletown Hotel, the company included Bobinovich, Changi, Foxy, Moira, Torvaig, and some of us had our partners also. A great night was had.
I socialise with a couple of Edinburgh based Orgers on a regular basis usually Lunch and sometimes a wee beer session.

Lovely post, thanks Golach. It demonstrates the Org at its best, for me. Sadly, I live far from Caithness, but if I was nearer, I'd definitely invite myself to join you all. Pushy, aren't I? :D I don't know too many in your list, but I'm sure I'd enjoy the company of Torvaig. I'll invite her/him to my next dinner party.

Nope. You shall be my wild card guest and we'll squeeze a place for you at the table, Merlin. How's that? ;)

Yes, good choices again Bill. Corrie, Pat and Linnie are on my list too. I may have to buy a larger table.

Lovely idea! An orgers get together!

1. Would definitely invite Golach - he is not as grumpy as he pretends!
2. Canuck would be on the list too - she is sensible and the voice of reason as well as lovely company
3. Would love to meet M Swanson - have been "playing" with her for a while now and we seem to share the same sense of humour!
4. Linnie would be on the list too .... again good fun
5. and Tugmistress ... cos she enjoys a good party!

A lot of mine are posters that don't really post anymore, but then again I rarely post these days either so here goes....1: Liz as she is such a kind hearted and wonderful person.2: Trix, for the dialect, banter and spells.3: Angela,we have some lovely conversations, but don't get to speak as much now,so it would be nice to catch up.4: Airdlass, again another lovely person who I know call a friend, like a few others on here.5: Joxville for his wit, intellect and GSOH,plus he may still get discount in Johnstones ;)6:Karia,she would liven up the conversation as she is feisty when she needs to be,but yet still a lovely woman.I am lucky enough to have met almost everyone I listed, the org has changed a lot since I first joined, but there are still some great posters x

I've had quite a think about this and it's so difficult to decide so I'm not having a dinner party, I'm having a banquet :-)

1. Golach, befriended me and was very welcoming in my early days on the org, some day I'd like to meet him for real in Edinburgh, and the tales he could tell about his various jobs would be interesting.

2. Kodiak, another who has done some interesting jobs that I'd like to know more about.

3 & 4 Liz and Lizz for being both kind and compassionate, and they'd keep the rest of us in check.

5. AliceInBlunderland, because she's a pearl ;-)

6, 7 & 8 Wifie, Laguna & AnneX who I've had many a great laugh with.

9 Rheghead, who I have met for real. Decent guy who I could learn more from.

10, 11, 12, 13 & 14 Ducati, Corrie3, Shelley, Trix and Thumper because there wouldn't be a dull moment with them around.

15, 16 & 17 Macademia, M.Swanson and Torvaig, for their insight and because I feel they speak to you, not at you.

18 Afternoon Delight. She doesn't come on the Org any more. A beautiful young woman for her intellect and political nous, and also knows how to have fun. And I'd never tire of looking at her <blush>

This is quite a hard one,
I'd love to put faces to names!

So, I'm gonna pick
1. Sis ( its been bugging me ages who they are as I'm sure I know them)
2. Jox (for his wit)
3. Northner ( I know he's moved away but it'd be good to catch up!)
4. Goldenguernsey ( for her sense of humour!)
5. Donss (as he's done a lot of work for us, all of a high standard, and is a genuinely nice guy)

Sorry if I've missed folk it is early in the day for me! Lol

Oops just realised I know the last three!
So gonna be cheeky and add

Ducati, oldmarine and rheghead :)

Super post Jox and what a brilliant idea to have a banquet instead of a dinner party. The more the merrier.

I have pleasure in accepting your kind invitation. It promises to be a memorable occasion.

May I also mention a few other nominations in dispatches, please?

Gleeber - Somebody has to give SiS a run for his money.

Alrock - Has a good humour when on form.

Maverick - Has a good, kind heart.

Squidge - To keep us on our toes.

Mr Fernie - To foot the bill.

Unfortunately, I have to spread 'em, Jox. :~(

May I throw in a name of a shall we say a long lost banned poster to make it a most memorable occasion...........Percy Toboggan. Now that would fairly get everyone talking , screaming, fighting and every other adjective you could possibly link with this controversial but good poster. Boy did we have some debates then and I mean debates !:D

:D Happy day, huh, Blunderland? I don't think they make them like Percy any more. Shame! He sounds like the kinda geyser I'd enjoy. Can we mount a petition to have him reinstated? I'll sign it, fer sure.

Jeez not sure if that would go down well lol when Percy used to post there were more toys, rattles and dummies spat and tossed from the prams than you would see being chucked around in a very large nursery [lol]

Actually, on a more serious note, wouldn't it be great if you could all meet and dine together. You're ideal to arrange the food, Squidge and I'm sure there would be many takers. I wish I lived nearer, because I'd love to meet you all and have some real fun. There's a lot of super people on the Org. If anything comes of the idea, be sure to post details and no stepping over the naughty bits. I'd be green with envy.

Just a few more guests, if you please.

Dadie - always willing to help out if she can.

DaveM - Another obliging Orger.

Spittalhill - And yet another most helpful man.

Cherokee - Great fun and a lovely lady!

Equus - Very pleasant and a good egg.

Maybe I should just book the orgers a table at the next medieval banquet. We could ship the whole shebang up the road for a weekend and you can all get to cheer for the knight of your choice as well as get to know each other. Good food, good company and a bit of a swordfight! Joxville could take on one of the knights for the hand of the lovely Alice ... Chainmail is terribly sexy Jox, the ladies would look fetching in their wimples and rheghead and ywindy could do a spot of jousting. Secrets could show off his intellectual superiority and see how long it takes to lose his head or end up in the stocks and Im sure we could find a few medieval torture implements for those who think human rights dont matter. All this and a feast as well!!!!! Could it get any better? Watch this space folks....who knows, coming to a town near you .......

My Darling (late) Mum . . just to be able to, once more, tell her that I love her so, so, so much . . . .

My Grandmother (Mum's mum !) cos I was named after her - but never met her :(

Princess Diana - she always seemed to get the "rough end of the stick" but was always kind to others throughout her life.

Joxville - I've had a couple of "spats" with him on this forum, but I know he's a good guy !

Mr Blobby - "He" made me laugh so much when on "Noel's House Party" !!
