What was it called?

Many years ago I watched a film and for the life of me cannot remember what it was called so I'm hoping that one of you guys may remember it and be able to name it?

It was basically a film about a woman (I think it was a woman) that had the ability to heal people by touching them and pulling whatever ailed them into her own body. That's it, that's all i can remember but I'd love to watch it again.
So based on that very vague information can anyone name that film that i watched maybe 30ish years ago.

Sounds like the green mile but its not a woman, it's a very very large man :)

No it was much much longer ago than that - 30ish years or so, and it literally was about this woman that could heal people but I think initially she was ostracized for her ability.
