This weekend The Newmarket Venue is anticipating some fantastic performances from acts from the Isle of Skye (Doc Livingstone), Glasgow (The Imagineers) & Margaret Finlayson (Keith/Aberdeen).
Doc Livingstone - Friday 7th December - 9PM/£3
Donald, stage name Doc Linvingstone, has spent many years travelling the bredth of Scotland both on his own and in position in various bands.
Hailing from the Isle of Skye based solo performer will be visiting Caithness this coming Friday to grace the stage at The Newmarket Venue in Thurso. The extended set will venture from Folk, Contemporary and Rock covers to his own beautiful Scottish tinged songs full of landscape imagery. It's sure to be both an entertaining and relaxing environment until after midnight when we switch back to the jukebox and party until 3AM.
The Imagineers & Margaret Finlayson - Saturday 8th December - 10PM/£4 Before 9PM, £5 after.
The Imagineers are the latest in a run of great acts which includes Flood Of Red, Estrella and RunningWithScissors announced for December in The Newmarket Venue.
The Imagineers will return to The Newmarket this coming Saturday 8th December. In the short time it's been since the band have performed on the Thurso stage not only has The Newmarket been through a change from Bar to renowned Scottish Live Music Venue, but he band themselves have been on a whirlwind year of recording EP's, stunning press writers and big performances; not least their appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson to a 10 million strong American audience.
The current tour which stretches from London to Thurso, stopping off at the legendary venue The Cavern, made famous by The Beatles, is in support of their newest offering 'The Karma Soundcheck : Part 1'. The four track really encompasses all the promises of grandeur that the band have promised over the past while together.
Those that caught their recent set at Wick's B-Fest will know exactly the upbeat sonic fusion that awaits this Saturday. The catchy Indie-Rock sound from 'sunny Glasgow' is certain to beat away the cold Caithness breeze.
The show kicks off at 10PM with smashing Keith/Aberdeen based support act Margaret Finlayson, a young female singer songwriter. Ensure you get down early as it's £4 entry before 9PM and £5. The venue will stay open until 3AM to ensure a cracking night for all who come along.
