Wick Christmas Fun Day - Saturday 24th November

The Christmas Spirit will be back in Wick Town Centre this year with our Christmas Fun Day! Saturday 24th November.

Entertainment programme:
12noon - Wick Players
12.30 - Wick Choral Society
1pm - Christmas Music
1.30pm - Tanya Horne Dancers
2pm - Wick Pipeband
2.30pm - Majorettes
3pm - Pentland Brass Band
3.30pm - Zumba with Diane Sinclair
4pm (approx) - Christmas Tree Light Switch on with Wick Gala Queen (Faith Harper) and Christmas Mickey & Minnie.

K G Events mascots will be around the town throughout the fun day to say hello to the children. Bring along your cameras so you can also take that special photos!

All shops taking part, we don't have details off all offers yet but will update as we know.

* Wick Pipeband - Fun Day Teas/Lunches in the Pipeband Hall 10am-3.30pm. Homemade Soup, Sandwiches, Toasties, Tea, Coffee, Home Baking, Bottle Stall, Toy Tombola, Raffle, Lucky Dip and Book Stall.

* JAED are having a Party Day. Excellent new womanswear in for sale at great prices with beautiful leather goods, scarves, purses etc. Treatments available from the fabulous Katrina from the Beauty Lounge 12-5pm.

* Divas & Dudes are offering 20% off all purchases on Fun Day.

* Hilltop Horses are offering discounts and lucky envelopes

* The Lunch Box will be having a Mickey Mouse Character Lunch, prize draw and all staff in fancy dress.

* B'Unique offering a free prize draw for every purchase on funday and the lucky winner will receive a £30 gift voucher. Also wine and nibbles for customers.

* Gails Gift Box is offering 10% off all stock (excluding special offers), also free entry into a raffle for all purchases over £20.

* McAllans have a "Buy 1 Get 1 Half Price" offer on during Fun Day in both stores. Buy any 2 items and get the cheapest one at 50% off. As well as their renouned "hospitality" (which includes free booze) introducing their special Christmas Punch in the woman's store.

* K G Events will be offering 10% off all Christmas Fancy Dress and also 10% off all Christmas Mascot Bookings made on Fun Day. Grandma's cakes will be in the shop selling some yummy cakes and Tarot Card Readings by Victoria. Free prize draw and also lucky dip for the kids :)

* Blackstairs Highlandwear are offering 10% of all stock on fun day

Everything is coming together nicely now! The Tree will be put up on Wednesday morning in Wick Market Square. A HUGE Thank you to James Innes for kindly donating the Tree and also organising the transport to get it to us!

* Nethercliffe Hotel are having High teas on 24th November from 4pm - 6pm in the Hotel. Price for 2 courses plus tea, coffee and home baking is £10 adults and £5 for children. Booking is advisable and we will also have a free raffle for a Christmas hamper for all customers on fun day. Lunches 12noon - 2pm and dinners 6pm - 8.30pm will be served as usual.

* Birons will be offering a 10% discount off our wheel barrows on Saturday with a full range of colours to choose from and we have the new Dyson Hot AM04 air multiplier heater in stock at £269.00. This is Internet prices on the street. We are also promoting the stay safe campaign with a carbon monoxide detector and smoke alarm for £25.00.

Wick's Christmas Tree is now in place in the Market Square! It is slightly smaller than previous years but it is very pretty and very kindly donated by James Innes and he also organised delivery with the Wind Turbine boys - huge thank you goes out to James & the boys from the Wind Turbines, Morag for helping organise it and also the council workers who have put it in place and put gorgeous lights on it for us!

Another offer announced too:

* No 1 Bistro is offering 20% off on Wick Christmas Fun Day. Come along after your morning’s shopping, have some scrumptious lunch (serving from 12 – 2pm last orders) then head back and bag some more offers from our lovely shops!’

I hope everyone enjoyed it! Was lovely to see such a good turn out and the weather was perfect too.
HUGE thank you to everyone who helped:
* Morag for organising the tree and getting her dad to make us the on/off switch, and James Innes for kindly donating it to the community, the windmill boys for taking time out to delivery it for us.
* Council workers for providing the lights and also setting the tree up and also Callum who very kindly came on Saturday to do the switch on for us
* Jenny for being a brilliant compare and Raymond for helping us set up
* D Steven & Son for providing the Lorry.
* Johnston Controls for letting us use the steps (they also very kindly dropped it off and collecting it back too)

* All the fabulous entertainment throughout the day, without them giving up their time to do it the Fun Day wouldn't have been the same

and of course a big thank you to everybody who came down to support the Fun Day! Everyone was sad their was no fun day on the street last year as the Christmas Lights moved up to the Assembly Rooms but lets hope we (the traders) can provide you with a "Fun" Day every year now :)
