Fines imposed on pair after guilty pleas

TWO brothers have appeared in court on the same day, on separated charges.
Zahowr Ahmed admitted having behaved in a threatening or abusive manner in the Mountain Dew Bar, in Wick on June 26.
Wick Sheriff Court was told, yesterday, that the self-employed engineer got upset about a poster in the bar which he took exception to, and remonstrated with the barman, using unacceptable language.
Ahmed (50) was advised that the matter was nothing to do with the bar and lay between him and someone, elsewhere.
He was fined £150 by Sheriff Andrew Berry, who viewed the poster and commented that the accused had gone about expressing his frustration in the wrong way.
His brother, Naceer Ahmed, 43, then entered the dock and admitted having failed to provide police with breath specimens without a reasonable excuse. He was fined £450 and banned for a year.
Ahmed was traced by police on August 25 after a tip-off about the nature of his driving and didn’t provide sufficient breath samples, at the local police station, to give a proper reading on the intoximeter.
Both brothers stay at 34 Argyle Square, Wick.
