Watched 6 waxwings feeding on rose hips yesterday morning at Lyth. Saw my first one ever last year so really pleased with this sighting:D

Spotted my first ever waxwing earlier this afternoon in next doors garden, by time I got the camera the birdie had flown!
Ah well. . . maybe next time

I saw 5 in Watten too, beautiful birds to look at, but very photo-shy...

I think it depends on how you approach them because i've sat and watched them in my garden from about 25-30 ft away
and they carried on feeding.Make a sudden movement and off they go but gradual or slow movements and they dont seem to bother.
In fact they will feed out of your hand as this blog photo shows.

Beautiful birds and the last time we saw them in Portree was winter 2010 and that was a snowy one .
Is it a sign of things to come?

Beautiful photo, Seabird. Waxwings are my favourite - especially the Cedar Waxwings of Canada.
