Looking to see if anyone has any informatin on this couple. They had their children in Canisbay. The variants of Mathison spelling are: Mathewson; Matheson, Matthewson.
This couple started having family in/abt 1767-1780, all children being born in Canisbay, Caithness.
Trying to find out if Margaret Simpson is related to my gggggrandfather Matthew Simpson + Margaret Waters.
I am thinking that this might be thier daughter, but Scotland's people doesn't come up with a birth for this Margaret circa 1740-1749 or a marraige for this couple at all.
The naming pattern does fit in with my line, but that is the only thread that I have for thinking that Margaret might be connected.
Any help as to where else I can look, or anyone that has old records that could help would be great.
