Berwick clip Scorries' wings with late penalty

COINCIDENTALLY it was a late penalty which propelled Berwick Rangers into the third round of the Scottish Cup, reports my match correspondent, Dave Donaldson.
Academy were left to rue their missed spot kick which would have got their battle off to a flying start. David Allan was brought down in the area by Doug Rilley but the Rangers' keeper pulled off a brilliant penalty save.
Both keepers were tested in the first period although it was the home side who dominated possession.
Wick battled back in the second half but Berwick made no mistake with their penalty, courtesy of Lee Curry...though a soft penalty award, at that.
It'll be along road home for the Wick fans, the only consolation being that forthcoming north cup final appointment with Nairn County.
