No decision until after Scottish Cup says chairman

WICK Academy has put the question of finding a new manager on the back burner until they fulfill their Scottish Cup commitments.
The club’s former manager, Davie Kirkwood sparked controversy when he suddenly jumped ship to derby rivals, Brora Rangers earlier this month. However, it didn’t have an adverse effect on the Scorries who not only eclipsed the Dudgeon Park outfit from the North Cup competition to set up a final with Nairn County next month, but more recently, beat Rothes and outsmarted Fraserburgh 4-1 to maintain their amazing year long home run.
Richard Hughes, who was Kirkwood’s assistant, has stepped into a caretaker role, with backing from Ian Munro, along with general manager, Pat Miller and youth manager, James Robertson.
That’s the way things will remain, said club chairman Colin Stewart, yesterday, until after their Scottish Cup involvement.
The Scorries are away to Berwick Rangers in the second round of the competition on Saturday and confidence is high after an excellent league run which has lifted them into third place in the table, on goal difference.
