This is not a directly football thread

Isnt it a disgrace the way this unsubstantiated Lithuanian business man was allowed to come in and buy a scottish institution Heart Of Midlothian FC and turn it into a laughing stock

Surely there should be protection for businesses especially now the EC has opened up too East European markets, dodgy businessmen could launder ill gotten gains officially and ruin some of our businesses like banks etc

Personally I think Romanov is asset stripping Hearts to sell off for development.
If he alienates the fans anymore he can say they are not interested in the club and he can flog it off.

Im all for capitalism but what happened to checks and balances

Why is due diligence not done on prospective buyers - -and for that existing owners of businesses eg the Fairpak bosses, why didnt auditors pick up on things not being right and why is the owner now sunning it up in Argentina in a £2k a night hotel when his customers are getting a 10% return on their Xmas savings. Its just not right

There needs to be more safeguards in place if our markets are to open up anymore

Roman Abramovich is another whose wealth was gained in suspect circumstances through Rusian black markets.

Why is the UK so attractive to these people?

Who will want to associate their business in a sponsorship with the shambles Romanov is creating

(PS its just good to be posting on a topic thats not about the mods and the leaked threads lol !)

Shame, isn't it! The SPA don't need any help from outsiders to make it look like a laughing stock, it does very well all on it's own!

Who's going to be threatening who with litigation at the end of this Season because it seems to be an annual event.

If the silly would only realise if he just put his money in and let a good manager take control of the team and pick and buy his own players, hearts would be twice as good as they are now, George Burley was the best manager to come along and they booted him out. Insane.

Im a fan of the green half of the old Firm but the emergence of Hearts last year was the most interesting thing to happen in Scottish football since Souness arrived at Ibrox and stimulated the game and press coverage

A lost opportunity

1 thing i can say about romanov is that he has 2 other clubs and they are still going strong. he isnt asset stripping them.and he doesnt use us as a feeder club for the old firm like were neighbours.

I don't believe he's asset stripping, but he needs to realise that when it comes to the actual football, he has no clue. As has been said above, get a good Manager and leave it all to him.

Can't make up my mind if theres something underhand going on or if he's just plain clueless. Sorry to hear Pressley's parted company with the club though. Can't see fans being to impressed with that :confused
