Sorry changi, I am not that talented. I just googled John O Groat Journal and Dad`s story about the sheltered housing in Thurso was there along with his picture.

Thanks for the link Golach, unfortunately this is happening all over. My Mum is in sheltered housing in Englanshire and they are having similar problems.

Hope your mum has someone to fight on her behalf and her fellow residents, especially if they are paying megabucks for a service which is no longer being provided.

Our local councillors Donnie Mackay and John Rosie have fought hard to be heard and have justice done for the 34 residents in Thurso, but when we were told we could have a friend at the meeting with Dad and we invited Donnie (have known him all my life) Donnie received a letter from Highland Council in Inverness telling him not to attend. When I challenged this I was told he was most welcome to come and when the meeting began his absence was noted, but although I had copies of the emails Donnie was told the content of the letter still stood.

It would have been a far more interesting meeting if he had been there.
