Highland cuts will undermine fair coverage agenda
LOCAL MP John Thurso is one of three politicians who have called upon the BBC Scotland to think again about what they describe as false economies in cutting jobs across the country.
He has tabled an early-day Commons motion along with Lib Dems Charles Kennedy and the SNP’s Angus McNeill stating their concern at the loss of jobs in particular they halving of senior posts at the Beeb’s Inverness station.
The trio say it undermines the station’s ability to give fair coverage of the varied and geographically-vast Highland news agenda.
