Having read a well known Sunday paper, I just thought that I would share a few items from one of the articles with the heading of "100 things you didn't know you didn't know" .....
1. Knights in armour raised their visors to identify themselves when they rode past their king in medieval times. This arm movement custom, over time, became the modern day military salute.
2. An average four-year-old child asks more than 400 questions a day.
3. The world's youngest parent's were aged eight and nine and lived in China in 1910.
4. A rat can last longer without water than a camel.
5. The word "assassination" was invented by Shakespeare.
6. The blood of mammals is red; the blood of insects is yellow and the blood of lobsters is blue.
7. By age 60, most people have lost half of their tastebuds.
8. Absolutely pure gold is so soft that it can be moulded with the hands.
9. A pineapple is a berry, as are oranges, lemons, watermelons and tomatoes. Peanuts are beans.
10. A notch carved in a tree will remain the same distance from the ground as the tree grows.
I, personally, found all these facts quite interesting.
If you want to dispute any of them then please do not "get at me"........as already said; I've "quoted" them from a Sunday newspaper !
