New rose for the Queen Mother's favourite garden

PRINCE CHARLES has chosen roses for a new garden at his late grandmother’s Castle of Mey to mark a milestone in her passing, reports the Press and Journal today.
The charity, which runs the castle, celebrated the diamond jubilee and commemorated the 10th anniversary of the Queen Mother’s death by officially opening a new rose garden on Saturday. The ceremony, involving the unveiling of a plaque, was carried out by Ash Windham, chair of the Castle trust and Caithness Lord Lieutenant Anne Dunnett.
The walled garden was a favourite place of the Queen Mother during her annual visits to the castle.
It is the second tribute made by the castle and the trust which has already launched an exclusive exhibition of photos of the Queen Mother in Caithness, as well as displaying exclusive images and memorabilia from the 1952 coronation.
