Why do videos play erratically in youtube, daily motion etc. I am running windows 7, laptop is acer aspire 5532 browser is google chrome. It is only the last month or so this has happened. Adobe flash player is all up to date.

try running CCleaner or glary utils one hit wonder cleaners.

under tools/internet options/ advanced
tick the option to empty internet cache files

Just a FYI, Chrome has Flash player embedded in it, so updating Flash does not update Chrome's version. You need to update chrome to do that, mainly it does this by itself but worth checking the version in "About Google Chrome" in the spanner menu.

Have checked this and flash player is up to date. Videos play fine via internet explorer. Obviously a Google problem?

Have you tried turning on/off hardware acceleration in Flash, right click on a vid and you should get into the flash settings from there.

Also you could try the html5 trial in youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/html5

join the trial and see if its any better in chrome.

If not you can visit the same page to leave the trial.

It may of course be just a Chrome issue as I also get a weird glitch when switching back from full screen but a refresh fixes that for now.
