I am confused. The pictures of the soon-to-be-improved "Shore Road" show the road along the north edge of the river basin. I always thought Shore Road was the steep one that climbs up from the SE corner of the harbour by the old power station. According to Multimap that's Harbour Road. Just to confuse me further they label the street shown in the pictures as Scalesburn. I thought Scalesburn was just the steep bit going up towards Willowbank.
The old mind must be starting to rot. I'm glad to see Shore Lane, Francis St and Bank Row are still where I left them.
While they're widening Shore Lane maybe they should make it wiggly like Lombard Street in San Francisco. Best picture of that I could find is at http://www.feamar.de/silvester2000/san_fransisco.htm
I am not sure it would make things better or worse in the event of icy weather :eyes
