Players lacked belief against a hungrier side
WICK ACADEMY manager Davie Kirkwood has described the team’s 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Deveronvale, at the weekend as “just one of those game” and added they will just have to take the defeat on the chin and move on.
He said that his players lacked belief in the match in which their opponents were superior and hungrier.
It was Academy’s first defeat since playing their pre-season friendlies and their first two games of the league.
Kirkwood said: “We were trying stupid back heels, silly flicks and passes that were never on” but added: “It think the last time we did this was at Nairn last year and if this is the only one of the season then I will be quite happy.”
