Hi,
for those of you that care and are interested, Dougal is doing well so the vet said this morning :)
he still has noisy lungs but not as bad as they were last week, his temperature is perfectly normal and last week he weighed 6.6kg and today he weighs 7.4kg
he is still too boney but is improving nicely.
the vet has told me the name of what is wrong with him, he will never be better but with management he will live a fairly normal life if a little less life expectancy from what i understand, it is megaesophagus - and i am glad i don't have to try to pronounce that!

Thank you so very much to all those that have donated to KWK9 be it directly or through the donation tins or however you have donated!

Dougal is due back at the vet in 2 weeks unless he goes downhill in the meantime.

If you have facebook you can follow dougal and his daily antics etc on www.facebook.com/dougalneedsyou

oh, and he has cleared his lungs a bit again today, he coughed up some more green goo [disgust]

Met the loveable Dougal and all his four-legged friends today! What a wee smasher he is, even though he did throw up at my feet!

The rest of the animal clan have accepted him into their little family and it is a joy to watch him taking part in all the fun.

In the loving care of his new family Dougal will surely thrive and have a great life despite his unfortunate afflictions. He is a game little fella who deserves this chance at life and Tuggs is the right person to help him along his way.

As an addendum to my post above, the charity KWK9 Rescue does a wonderful job in providing foster homes for any dog waiting for a new home. There are various reasons why someone may no longer be able to look after their dog be it through illness, bereavement or alllergies etc.

KWK9 provide medication, specialist food etc., for the dogs in their care and are dedicated in what they do in ensuring that no dog goes without receiving the attention they need.

I am sending out a plea for anyone thinking of donating regularly to this local charity and to say that anything from £5 upwards per week/month set up by standing order or direct debit to KWK9 Rescue will go a long way to provide the great care they give to our canine friends before and after adoptions.

Thank you KWK9 for all that you do........
