I have always had a sneaking liking for a lot (though not by any means all) of Ron Paul's policies. I do find the Republican description a lot to swallow, though...too Tory reminiscent for me.

At the last US election, I was more for Obama, because I did agree with what he said his policies were, but who has turned out to be the biggest disappointment on earth re his promises to ameliorate US foreign policy....still got Gitmo...still cuddling up to Israel...still making threatening noises for no real reason against Iran etc.

If I was an American voting in the next election, if I was going to vote at all, I'd more than likely put my cross for Ron Paul..on the premise that, overall, he can't do any worse for the cause of world peace than most American presidents since WWII...and he reads and sounds more libertarian than Republican......which could mean he is that rare thing....a Republican with principles.

At this point Ron Paul is out of it. Mitt Romney is in the running. Obama in spite of the disappointments is showing. American politics is strange and this election is stranger than most.

Ron Paul is just as bad as Mitt Romney, worse in some ways (The US really needs to stop letting George Lucas name its politicians also) yet for some reason he has a cult following, especially online though admittedly most of that is libertarian astroturfing. It always struck me as odd. That's not to say Obama is any better than either of them, reminded of that South Park episode regarding political choices.

If only Bernie Sanders ran for President, if only.

America is doomed. Most bible bashing Southern Americans are hoping Jesus will rise and save them.

Ron Paul, like most libertarians, suffers from the phenomenon that half the time he talks more sense than all the other candidates put together, and then suddenly he will say something that makes you wonder what psychiatric medication he forgot to take. Anyway he has no chance of the nomination. If Rafalca comes home from the Olympics in a bad mood and kicks Mitt in the head, they will still pick someone else at the Republican convention.
