This is just the top of the stack at Drumhollistan where the puffin colony is
Gives you an idea of just how many there are.This is probably only about 1/5th
of the stack area.

Yes i think its been a bumper year for sand eels.Thurso bay has been boiling with shoals of fish this summer.
As for how many puffins there are at the colony,there must be at least 500

Great shots MPH, we always refer to the stack as Puffin Hotel, spent many an hour sitting on the cliff watching them.
