I use Atholdene, 20 Southside Road, Inverness tel 01463233565 or www.atholdenehouse.com (http://www.atholdenehouse.com), since finding these have hardly used anywhere else.

Family run business, excellent freshly cooked breakfasts, good parking, convenient for city centre but quiet.

I have used various B&B's in Inverness over the years and much the same as Pat, I have not found the need to try anywhere else since I found this one.

Travelodge is great if you are booking well in advance but at short notice the price is not so sensible.
Looking last week for a night for OH in Inverness, nothing under £100 a room even for Travelodge.

Well the B & B quoted is £40 per night for single and £30 per person for double sharing.
so it seem Travelodge can be well beaten.

Despite advertising from these hotel chains like Premier advertising rooms from £29 I have found it almost impossible to book them at that price. Inverness in particular seems to be always booked out of the lower priced rooms. I have tried when offers are on even in winter and find the web sites are so busy I cannot book the rooms online. I have tried and given up on more than one occasion. One time I tried for over two hours and always timed out and by the time I got on the rooms at low prices were all gone. No fun sitting trying to log on over and over.

B & B is usually consistently cheaper than even the budget hotels. Most B & B's nowadays have ensuite bathrooms, good breakfasts and free wifi and often much more and although maybe a couple of minutes away from the town centre offer free easy parking and tend to be in quieter locations if you want a good quiet place to sleep.

Kenneth Street have some lovely B & B`s. Also on Fairfield Road there are an abundance of good quality places with homely atmosphere and not too far walking into town over the greig street bridge.

Go onto www.laterooms.co.uk or bookings.com I have had some fantastic bargains on there. Much cheaper than Travellodge and breakfast included
