Customer was kicked and punched in head

A FRASERBURGH fisherman has been convicted of an assault outside a pub called Popeye’s in a Far North seaport.
Shaun Brigham, had denied the charge but was found guilty after a trial at Wick Sheriff Court, today.
The incident occurred at the pub on the waterfront bar, at Scrabster, last November.
The court was told that Brigham (46) and another customer, Colin Creelman had argued in the pub and it subsequently led to a confrontation outside.
There was conflicting versions of what happened, but off-duty special police constable Janice Gallacher, who witnessed the altercation from a window of an upstairs restaurant, told the court that Brigham pushed Creelman to the ground and punched and kicked his head.
Creelman, who said he was so badly bruised and bleeding, said that medical staff at the local hospital, had to wait for a time before they treated him, because his head was so swollen.
Brigham, who settled in Broad Street, Fraserburgh, from Newcastle, some 20 years ago, admitted a previous record, including assaults, and was remanded in custody until July 5, pending background reports.
