Caller's temper got the better of him

A MAN who lashed out at a householder after an argument developed on his doorstep, was ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid community service when he appeared at Wick Sheriff Court, today
Unemployed Kevin Stewart (33) of Nylek, Newton Hill, near Wick admitted a reduced charge of assault.
He was said to have called at a house in the town’s Macrae Street, on January 29, to speak to someone there about an accusation. Another person, Sean Munro, answered the door, and “Stewart’s temper got the better of him” during exchanges, and punched him once on his head, said
Senior fiscal depute, David Barclay.
Sheriff Andrew Berry observed that the accused had appeared in court earlier in January and was fined for an unrelated matter, and told him: “Seeking out someone to try to resolve a grievance is certainly not helping your position.”
The sheriff expressed the hope that that there would be no further offending.

A WICK man is facing a drugs charge.
Forty-year-old Robert Barnetson appeared on indictment and pleaded not guilty.

when a trial date is expected to be set.
