Yes, we did all that. Last night, when hubby announced he'd seen this aircraft while walking the dog up around the Industrial Estate, complained about not having a decent camera etc., I assured him that Phill would post some good photos up on Caithness dot Org.

This morning, apparently the ding-dang aircraft took off just above his head, banked towards the Airport and hubby had forgotten to take our crappy camera with him.

Long plea short - does anyone have any photos of this very special aircraft which they'd be prepared to post here?

Brilliant one of the 'double wing' extended. One of the defining features of the aircraft.

Amazing this thing still flys transatlantic!

According to its Wikipedia entry, the JU52 was sometimes used to drop bombs. I don't know how this was achieved. Perhaps a crew member would heave them out the side door?

An old twin engined aeroplane flew slowly over Dunnet just now heading for Wick.

JU52 back in Wick on return journey.

We were treated to the awesome sight of it heading straight towards us just after 1900 hrs tonight as it flew over Westerseat Farm on the North side of Wick. It then banked towards Ackergill and landed at Wick Airport. :)

The link which Phill previously posted has not been updated as yet :-
