Do they not still get the Young Scot card through the school? It has a the Pass logo and accepted as proof of age in most places.

The Young Scot is the best card for under 18's as it's accepted in the most places as ID including banks for getting a bank account. If he missed out on it at school he can get a National Entitlement Card from any HC Service point, it has the young scot logo on it. It is free and he will need ID to get one such as birth lines, passport, letter from school, college, doctor etc, utility bill? and a photo signed by a professional person.
