The Highland Council Asbestos register states that there is asbestos ceiling tiles above the stairwell going to the gym. The storage room on that stairwell has the same ceiling tiles there but over 70% of them are damaged!

The ceiling tiles are either hanging off the room or on the floor in dozens of pieces.

The Ceiling tiles contain Brown Asbestos which is 10 times more dangerous than White asbestos.

This is a Major health risk to the students and teachers.

What can we do about this?

Why dont you report this to the relavant people at the school, and i get them to look into this futher, and go through the proper channels first.

I doubt the school would still be open if it posed a serious risk to anyone.

What can be done about this ??

First port of call with your concern should be the school. Contact them and get all the facts before posting on an open website and possibly causing fear and alarm unnecessarily.
I am led to believe that the very recent damage which you are on about was caused by a water leak and the tiles which have now been removed are MDF.

Any concerns I would have with any organisation I would go to them first and ask them what is the plan of action.
