If I won £120 million and I bankrolled a monumental gift to the people of Caithness, say, a hospital wing or a tunnel to Orkney, would it be acceptable to the people of caithness if it was named after me?

I'm an incomer but I don't see that affecting the result.

Don't see why they couldn't arrange that if you are paying for it.;)

I think you should get to choose the name and choose it wisely ;) and I guess it would depend on your name too. If you were named Drew Peacock (as was seen on another thread) then it would be good if it was a wing that specialised in impotency!

I'm sure no-one would really complain though if you gifted wads of cash and stuff was named after you though.

Are you planning on winning ? Don't know how, as it is all, mine, mine, mine !!!!!

Rhegers, if you won the £120 million and bankrolled a large gift to Caithness I don't think there would be a problem in naming it after you.

Incomer or not, I don't think it matters. Personally, I wouldn't want it named after me if I did it, but I would want to have a say in the name.

I actually voted no, but it should've been yes  sorry

I was thinking from my point of view if I'd won the money. If you won £120 million and boosted the hospital dramatically (hint hint hint) I'm sure they'd rename the hospital after you :D

Incomer - Gee whis isn't his money good enough if hes an incomer or not.:D

No problem with you using your own name Rheghead but you had better get a serious grip on yourself regarding the actual legacy. A Hospital Wing? tut tut, you are way out of touch with the needs of the people.

The Rheghead Memorial ShopTill'U'Drop Hypermarket.

The Rheghead Memorial Fill Yer Tank For a Fiver Fuel Facility.

Now THAT'S more like it ;o)

If you share it with me I'll get my first tatoo: Rheg on my forehead....in otherwords, Rheghead. Let it be my lasting tribute to a generous man! [lol]

The "Rheghead Memorial Wind Turbine Farm"?......:pNah, it would be a new maternity wing, known colloquially as Rheggers' Preggers.

I hope he's not planning on impregnating them all aswell - would need his £120 million for child support costs

Maybe you could fund a bridge at the cemetery and that would sort out another thread too. It would save all the buck passing anyway.

Makes no difference to me, lol! The Rheghead Tunnel sounds ok. ;)

If you were named Drew Peacock (as was seen on another thread)

What happened to that thread, it seems to have disappeared?

Well the £120 million has been won. Which one of you has the ticket? Its definitely not me although I did get three numbers.

Of course you can Rheghead.

Never let it be said that the Caithness folk are against accepting charity - even from an incomer ;)

Call it whatever, but drop the "memorial" bit. That is a "post-passing-from-this-mortal coil" expression and we want you around for a long time yet Rheggers.

I voted "Yes".

Some suggestions are:

The Rheghead Rehabilitation Centre

The Rheghead Retirement Home

The Rheghead Retirement Retreat

We have Duncansby Head, Dunnet Head and Holborn Head. Is there by any chance an untitled promontory in Caithness upon which we could bestow the name of Rheg Head? I rather like that idea!! What better way for Caithness to thank the monumental generosity of our Orger friend Rheghead!

I was wondering where the second part of your post was going Sporran - I had visions of these retirement homes being located on the headlands. Not the best place considering old folks propensity to fall over things....

No way!!! Rheghead maternity wing sounds just naff. Rheghead stadium, sounds camp. Rheghead street, Rheghead Avenue? no trees. Rheghead Airport? Rheghead-reay nuclear golfball ;) [lol]

In the end there was nobody with the full set of numbers so the next 20 split the total amount. They got just over £6.7M each. Still a very nice number.

I won £6.60 for one number and the 2 stars so if you want to think about a monument you want rheghead I will finance it all out of my winnings!!

May have to cut back a bit on the size and the lettering a tad!!

Good grief, no I wasn't proposing that the retirement homes or rehabilitation centre be built on any type of headland, lol! Just that an another way to honour Rheghead would be to have a headland itself named after him, as in Rheg Head.
